Privacy

This notice describes the pilot website as it works today. It will be updated if data collection or third-party services change.

What the site does not collect

TwistAtlas does not provide user accounts, comments, or an on-site contact form. The site does not currently use analytics, advertising, marketing trackers, or cookies set by TwistAtlas application code. It does not use browser storage to build a visitor profile.

Hosting and routine request data

The site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. As with ordinary web hosting, Cloudflare may process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information, and security signals. TwistAtlas does not use that hosting data for on-site behavioural analytics.

Retention and processing performed by Cloudflare are governed by Cloudflare's own terms and privacy documentation.

Interactive route maps

Route pages contain an interactive map that loads only when it approaches the visible part of the page. Loading that map sends a request to OpenFreeMap for its map style and tiles. OpenFreeMap can receive normal web-request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the referring page. If the map does not load, the route text, elevation information, and GPX download remain available.

External links and correction reports

Route guides link to road authorities and other editorial sources. No information is sent to those sites merely because their links appear; their own privacy practices apply after you follow a link.

Corrections are submitted through GitLab rather than through TwistAtlas. GitLab may require an account and may display issue content publicly. Avoid including sensitive personal information and review GitLab's privacy information before submitting a report.

GPX downloads

GPX files are static downloads served with the site. TwistAtlas does not add a user identifier to a downloaded file or use an application-level download tracker. The normal hosting request described above still applies when a file is requested.
